Hi Bamber Community,
Everyone is welcome to join us for our next PTA meeting on Thursday, November 20th from 6:30–8:00 PM in the Bamber Valley music room. Our focus topic will be on family engagement with a special guest speaker. Research shows that when families are engaged, students have stronger academic growth and better overall success. Childcare and light refreshments will be provided.
Our PTA, along with other PTAs across the district, recently heard a presentation from the district’s science and math curriculum leader about the new science curriculum. This connects directly to our shared goal of making STEM more approachable and accessible for all families through a PTA STEM + Families Grant we received—one of only four PTAs districtwide selected. Since last spring, we’ve been preparing to bring this program to Bamber Valley, and we look forward to hosting the STEM + Families event in April.
Thank you to everyone who contributed sides for the fall parent–teacher conference meal. The PTA provided the main entrée, and the meal was organized by committee chair Alissa Naymark and the Bamber Valley PTA Hospitality Committee.
We also approved several fall PTA grants that support our students and school community, including:
Glaze – $570; Cork Board – $200; Art Supplies for Teachers – $1,030; Hy-Vee Receipt Box – $150; Paint Supplies for Kindergarten Playground - $171.16 Ukulele Storage Cart – $969; Keyboards – $1,500
