ROCKET FAMILY
As we enter the final month of the school year at John Marshall High School, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible year it has been. We are so proud of the growth, achievements, and resilience shown by our students and staff. This time of year brings a great deal of excitement as we look ahead to some of our most cherished traditions, including prom, the senior walk through our elementary and middle schools, and the Senior Sunset at our football stadium. These milestones are meaningful celebrations that honor the hard work and dedication of our students.
While there is much to celebrate, it is important that we do not let off the gas as we approach the finish line. For our seniors, please continue to closely monitor attendance, credits, and grades, and be sure to watch for communication from teachers and counselors. Families of 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students, we encourage you to have these same conversations at home. Finishing strong at every grade level helps ensure that senior year concludes with celebration rather than stress. We are incredibly proud of all that has been accomplished this year and look forward to recognizing and celebrating our students’ success as June arrives. Thank you for your continued support—and as always...

Celebrations & Spotlights |
This month, several students in our Multilingual Program had the opportunity to visit the Rochester Government Center and/or the State Capitol. It really brings life what you're learning in class when you can see it in action. We are thankful for these rich learning opportunities. |

Academics & Opportunities |
There are many ways we work to support your student at JM. This section will highlight a couple each month.
Academic Support & Homework Help |
Does your student want some extra academic support? Here's some ideas: |
-
Talk with the Classroom Teacher - they are first go-to, as they know the content, assignments & learning goals
- Visit the W.I.N. Room (What I Need) during the school day. It is located just inside of the Library, open most periods & staff by JM teachers. This is a great opportunity to get some 1-on-1 help from a staff offering a new perspective, make up a test or have an accountability buddy. See schedule for times/days.
- Attend After School Homework Help. This is a free offering to JM students, runs out of the Library, and is staffed by JM teachers. You do not have to attend every day - do what works for you!
Did you get 'off track', and want help getting back 'on track'? Talk to a teacher, your counselor, Miss Jasmine, Mr. Sharp, Ms. Elleson, or any adult you are connected with at JM. We want to help! |
Attendance is the strongest predictor of academic success—students who attend school consistently are far more likely to earn credits and progress on pace. |
